About the Position

The Community Activation Officer supports Gunawuna Jungai’s community initiatives by performing community-level activities designed to foster engagement and participation in the Doomadgee community. This position works under close supervision, carrying out routine tasks related to transportation, event support, and community project assistance.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Community Activation Officer’s responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Event Assistance: Provide support for community events, such as barbecues and social gatherings, by helping with setup, clean-up, and other routine tasks to ensure smooth operations.
  2. Asset Handling: Perform basic tasks to assist with the care and proper handling of GJ equipment and resources used during community engagement activities, as directed.
  3. Project Assistance: Provide routine support to project teams by assisting with straightforward tasks that contribute to community projects and activities under close guidance.
  4. Policy Compliance: Follow instructions to adhere to GJ policies and procedures, ensuring all activities meet organisational standards.
  5. Other reasonable duties to meet the needs of the business as requested by management from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
  1. Community Engagement: Familiarity with community engagement activities, with a willingness to learn through on-the-job training.
  2. Event and Task Coordination Support: Ability to follow instructions in assisting with events and coordinating basic tasks, such as preparing supplies and setting up areas for community interactions.
  3. Basic Driving Skills (if applicable): A valid driver’s license for assisting with transportation tasks under supervision.
  4. Foundational Communication Skills: Basic verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with community members and team members.
