Kenneth Gilbert

Kenneth Gilbert

From a family of four sisters and married with three children, Kenneth is driven to give a voice to his community and knows it’s time for cultural leaders to talk for their Country and their people, identify their needs and aspirations, and take ownership of decision-making in the community. Kenneth will work as a director to bring better service to Doomadgee, and he is honoured to be able to help the community. He believes that this new way of working together will strengthen and improve the lives of the people of Doomadgee, including addressing the lack of cultural practices in service delivery across the community.

For the community to have a voice at the table, Kenneth knows that he needs to work hard with all the other team members to ensure culture is always at the forefront of decisions and programs relating to education, children’s wellbeing, housing, healthcare and employment. As a Director, Kenneth dedicates himself to the task of bringing improved services to Doomadgee. He considers it a profound honour to be able to contribute to the betterment of his community.
