Atlanta Taylor is a passionate Gangalidda and Garawa woman with strong ties to the traditional estate of Burruluwarra on the Gangalidda Coast. As a mother of four and grandmother of four, Atlanta is deeply committed to her family and the wellbeing of her community. She has lived in Doomadgee her entire life, with connections to Waanyi, Kalkadoon, and Minginda tribes through her father’s side.

Recently appointed as a Director of Gunawuna Jungai Limited (GJ), Atlanta was initially not planning on taking up a leadership role but has embraced the opportunity with excitement. She is eager to contribute to GJ’s mission of creating positive change in Doomadgee, especially in the areas of health and education. Atlanta is particularly focused on supporting improvements in local services and believes that GJ’s community-driven approach offers hope for the future.

Her passion for being on country and ensuring her community has control over its future drives her involvement in GJ. Atlanta is committed to seeing her community thrive through sustainable development and self-determination.
